Case Study — E-commerce

A storefront as quiet as the glass it sells.

A handcrafted glassware brand needed a shop that felt like their workshop: slow, warm, and precise. We designed and built a bespoke storefront where the products do the talking.

Storefront home page

The home page. One hero image, one sentence, one button — restraint as a selling point.

The brief.

The client sells handblown glass — pieces that take days to make and minutes to fall in love with in person. Their old site was a marketplace template: cluttered, loud, and completely at odds with the work. Wholesale enquiries were growing, but direct sales weren't.

The ask was simple to say and hard to do: make the online shop feel like picking the piece up in the workshop. Fewer words, better photographs, and a checkout that never breaks the spell.

The approach.

01

Editorial, not marketplace

A gallery-style layout built around large imagery and a strict typographic system — high-contrast serif for product names, quiet uppercase labels for everything else.

02

A palette from the workshop

Warm alabaster, espresso and a bronze accent, sampled from the workshop's plaster walls and kiln brick. No pure white anywhere on the site.

03

Frictionless buying

Quick-add from any product card, a slide-in cart, and a product page that answers materials, care and shipping questions without leaving the page.

The collection. A three-column grid with generous negative space; filters stay out of the way until needed.

The product page. Every piece gets room to breathe — one photograph at a time, with the story folded into quiet accordions.

The outcome.

The new storefront launched with the brand's autumn collection. It loads fast, reads calmly, and — most importantly — sells the work the way the workshop would.
